Netball courts

In Australia more netball is played on Laykold than on any other surface.

Netball is a fast and dynamic game. The players move quickly and stop and change direction rapidly. The game requires a high performance surface - Laykold’s netball courts provide players with the three requirements crucial to having a successful and safe game:

  • Non-slip consistency

  • Force reduction technology

  • Energy return

Our Force Reduction systems offer up to 21% impact protection, with an elasticity that absorbs the vertical and horizontal force delivered by a netball player and then returns that energy back to the athlete. This reduces impact on joints and muscles and also reduces strains and fatigue, whilst aiding recovery time.

With outdoor all-weather performance, Laykold’s coatings provide high slip-resistant properties, which help prevent injuries from falls, slipping and jarring of joints.

Laykold is made in Australia, which gives us a unique Netball understanding:

  • All weather performance

  • UV stable colors, designed to withstand the Australian sun

  • Cooler to play on than bare asphalt or concrete

  • Technology to bridge cracks and moving substrate

Laykold has designed an Advantage system range specifically for netball.

Each Laykold Advantage Netball system has a netball-quality slip-resistant factory-textured surface, which achieves a 75 BPN, the level required by the National Netball Facilities Manual for Netball Australia

For indoor venues, Laykold Gymsports is a multi-sport surface that provides excellent slip resistance, no seams and force reduction.

Case Study: Gold COAST

Project: Pimpama Sports Hub, Gold Coast, Queensland

The $85 million Pimpama Sports Hub is part of the infrastructure investment in the Gold Coast to support the projected population increase. Laykold installer, Grassports Australia, was engaged to construct 12 new netball courts as part of the Hub development.

Laykold Advantage was the chosen court surface due to its hard wearing and long-lasting qualities, huge range of colours and ability to be re-coated in the future.

Netball Queensland have hosted both local and regional level competitions and events at the Hub.

Case Study: Naracoorte Demons Netball/Tennis Club

Project: Conversion of existing courts (weathered acrylic) to Laykold Masters Float.

TEB Contractors assisted the club with grant applications to allow them to install Laykold Masters Float rather than a standard acrylic hard court surface. The club understood that Laykold Masters Float with superior Force Reduction (21% for life) would deliver a superior playing performance (happy knees) as well as addressing the continued issues of substrate cracking
