Diverting 240 TONNES of unused paint from landfill and waterways
In a world first collaboration, APT, in an exclusive partnership with non-profit organisation Paintback, will upcycle unwanted domestic paint into all Australian-made Laykold courts and the building of all APT turf products made in Australia, enabling us to offer the worlds greenest courts and turf systems.

The World's Greenest Courts and Turf Systems JUST GOT GREENER!
Three years of dedicated R&D testing have allowed us to optimise the Paintback formulation to maximise the amount of recycled paint with zero negative impact on it’s installation ease or court performance.
Every year Laykold Courts will upcycle 100 tonnes of post-consumer paint and a further 140 tonnes will be recycled in APT turf systems.
This will increase the renewable and recycled content of our Australian-made systems to up to 83%.
“The Paintback impact will help clubs, and public facilities to access additional funding and answer an increasing demand from customers and sports communities for more environmentally responsible surface solutions.”

How does Paintback work?
DIY and trade painters take their unwanted paint and packaging to a Paintback collection location
The containers are recycled
The solvent-based paint is used as an alternative energy source
Water is separated from acrylic paint, with the by-product used in a variety of industrial applications significantly reducing landfill
